Councillors will decide next week whether or not to approve the administration’s recommendations that the city introduces a Tourist Tax. The proposal is to charge overnight visitors £2 a night with a cap on seven nights. Scottish government legislation is still required but Edinburgh would be first if Holyrood manages to introduce that legislation.
